I know the content but I run short of time, especially in the writing and literature sections. How should I manage the three hours?
Time management for CBSE English starts with the 15-minute reading time: use it to plan the writing section and decide which long-answer questions you will attempt, not to reread the whole paper. Attempt the reading comprehension section first since the answers are in front of you and it builds confidence. Move to literature next while the texts are fresh, writing crisp, to-the-point answers with the right keywords rather than padding. Save the writing section (letter, analytical paragraph) for when you can give it clean, structured paragraphs, and stick to the word limit because over-writing wastes time without extra marks. Allot rough time per section based on its marks and keep ten minutes at the end to revise spellings and grammar. Neat handwriting and clear paragraphing genuinely help the examiner award marks.
