Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 8, 2026

This policy explains what personal data TuitionsinIndia collects about you, why we collect it, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and what you can make us do about it. It is written to be checked against what the product actually does, not to sound reassuring.

1. Who is responsible for your data

TuitionsinIndia is operated by Abhishek Ignatius John (sole proprietorship), Mumbai, India. We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described here. We run this service online and do not have a walk-in office, so we publish our city rather than a street address; if you need the full registered address for a legal notice, ask us and we will give it to you.

2. What we collect, and exactly why

We do not ask for, and do not want, your government ID, caste, religion, health information or financial account numbers. If you send us documents voluntarily as part of a verification request, we keep them only for that request.

3. Consent, and taking it back

You give us your details in order to be matched — that is the purpose, and we do not use them for a different purpose without telling you. Marketing messages are separate: you can switch email, SMS and WhatsApp updates off at any time in your settings, or by replying STOP on WhatsApp, and we will stop. Some messages are not marketing and always send while your account exists — your login code, a payment receipt, and notices about your account. If you do not want those either, the way to stop them is to delete your account.

4. Cookies and tracking

We set three first-party cookies of our own:

We also load three third-party tools on every page: Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, which measure traffic and the performance of our ads, and Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used — including session replays of mouse movement, scrolling and clicks. We send those tools no name, phone number, email or user ID; Clarity is told only your role (student, tutor or institute) and your plan tier. They set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We do not currently ask for consent before these load — you can block them in your browser or with a tracker blocker. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.

5. Who else sees your data

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it outside the specific cases listed here.

6. How long we keep it

Your account data — profile, requirements, messages, notifications — is kept for as long as your account exists, and is removed when you delete it (section 7).

Two things are honest to state plainly. First, payment records survive account deletion: the amount, date and Razorpay reference are archived, because Indian tax law requires books of account to be kept for several years. Second, we do not currently run an automatic purge of usage analytics or of the log of messages we have sent you — those records are kept indefinitely today. We are not going to claim a retention schedule we do not run. If you want that history removed sooner, ask us (section 8) and we will delete it.

7. Your rights, and how to actually use them

8. Grievance officer

Abhishek Ignatius John is our grievance officer. The channel that reaches us fastest is our contact form — it raises a ticket you can be replied to on, and alerts us directly. You can also write to support@tuitionsinindia.com. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within 48 hours and to resolve it within 30 days. Please include the email or phone number on your account.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, session cookies are HttpOnly, and access to the database is restricted. You do not have a password with us at all — you sign in with a one-time code sent to your phone, or with Google — so there is no password of yours for anyone to steal from us. We are a small team and we do not claim a certification we have not been through. If you find a security problem, please tell us through the contact form before disclosing it publicly.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will also be sent to the email address on your account.
