Both platforms help parents and students find tutors. The difference is what each charges tutors for. Every UrbanPro statement below links to UrbanPro's own help center or app-store listing, checked on 31 August 2026 — their model may change; the links are the authority.

Common questions
Do tutors pay for leads on TuitionsInIndia?
Only if they want to start the contact. A free profile is listed and families who find it contact the tutor at no cost. Any tutor can tap "I'm interested" on a requirement posted for free (free tutors on up to 3 a day), and the family chooses. Families who post for free can also agree to be called by up to 5 tutors; to call them, a tutor takes Pro (₹999 a month, in one level and up to 5 subjects, fair use 5 a day). Pro doesn't guarantee a student.
How is that different from UrbanPro?
UrbanPro's own help pages describe coins as a lead generation fee, deducted when a tutor responds to an enquiry, and state that coins are not refunded if the student connects with another tutor. On TuitionsInIndia a tutor pays a flat plan price, not per lead, and each family who posts for free can be contacted by at most 5 tutors, so a requirement is never shared with dozens.
Does either platform take a commission on tuition fees?
TuitionsInIndia takes no share of ongoing tuition fees — students pay tutors directly. There is a one-time cost in month one: when a family chose a tutor through our earlier recommendation service (no longer offered to new families), that tutor pays a placement fee of half of month one (at most ₹5,000), refunded if the family stops within 14 days; when a family books a tutor through the site, our booking fee is collected from the family and that tutor gives the family 50% off month one. A tutor who contacts a family on Pro, or is called by a family on Family Pro, pays no placement fee. UrbanPro's Partnership Program describes deductions of a category flat fee (₹600–₹1,500) plus a percentage from a student's first payment, per its own help page.
Whoever starts the contact pays
Tutors: list free, get found and say you're interested free; pay for Pro only to call families yourself. Families: post for free and choose whether up to 5 tutors may call you — or take Family Pro (₹399 a month, renews until you cancel) and call your matches yourself.
