We have to write a report on events like Annual Day or a blood donation camp. I am not sure about the format, the byline, and what tense to use.
Start with a short, clear headline that captures the event. Below it, write a byline: 'by [Your Name], [designation such as Reporter or Student Correspondent]'. Begin the first paragraph with the place and date, then the most important information, what happened, when, where and who was involved. Use the third person and the past tense throughout, since the event is already over. Include details like the chief guest, key activities, and a notable quote or outcome in the middle paragraphs. End with how the event concluded, such as a vote of thanks. Keep the language formal, factual and impersonal, avoiding 'I' and personal opinions. A report informs the reader objectively, so stick to facts and arrange them in order of importance.
