They seem the same to me. Please explain with an example and why velocity is a vector but speed is not.
So to understand the difference between these two terms we need to understand the difference between distance and displacement....so distance is any path taken to travel from one point to another meanwhile displacement is the shortest distance taken to travel from one point to another....so in that context speed is distance divided by total time taken and velocity is displacement divided by total time taken..
