That is enforced in the product, not just promised: a tutor cannot buy or unlock your contact details unless you have chosen them first. Before you accept you read their profile and the message they sent with their application; once you accept, the chat opens and is free for both of you.
It depends on class, subject and city. On this site the typical tutor asks around ₹500 an hour, with most between ₹300 and ₹600. Worth knowing: our own listings show the typical rate is the same whether a tutor teaches online or in person, so treat 'online is cheaper' as something to negotiate rather than a discount you are owed.
